School Admissions

Nursery admissions

We welcome children into nursery the term following their 3rd birthday.  Our nursery gives children a great start to school life by promoting positive attitudes to learning, teaching social skills and developing knowledge and understanding. We aim is to provide the children with a safe, stimulating and exciting learning environment that meet all of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS).

At Longford Primary Academy, we greatly value the importance of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in providing a secure foundation for every child’s future learning and development. We aim to ensure that pupils’ wellbeing is at the heart of our curriculum where we enable and motivate children to confidently take risks, explore, create and feel immersed in play.

We follow the EYFS Curriculum which consists of seven areas of learning:

This curriculum is interwoven with high quality texts to engage pupils whilst strengthening their vocabulary and imagination.

Those entitled to 30 hours funding are eligible to stay for the whole school day, inclusive of the lunch break, with no additional costs if parents send children in with a packed lunch.  A hot school dinner may be ordered and paid for if preferred at the usual price for a school meal.  If you only have a 15 hour entitlement but would like your child to stay at Nursery for additonal hours eg lunch/the full day, this can be arranged for an additional charge.

Our nursery places are usually filled very quickly and therefore we encourage parents and carers to contact the school earlier than the year of starting nursery to secure a place on our waiting list.  We welcome visitors to take a look around our fantastic provision.  Please see our EYFS page or contact the school office for further information.
