Year 6 SATS Information

Pupils will take their tests, to measure progress and attainent in May.  Children will be tested during the week beginning Monday 10th May 2021.  It is VITAL that your child attends school for these tests. 

If your child is ill on the morning of any of these days, please contact the school immediately so access arrangements can be made.

How can I help my child?

• Plenty of reading and talk with them about reading.  Try to discuss a wide range of texts.  This can include newspapers, books, magazines, poems and online texts.
• Practice basic number facts with them - times tables and related division facts (up to 12x12), addition, subtraction, multiplication and division methods, equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages.  See where you can use maths with them everyday - talk about time, get them to add up the shopping bill.
• Encourage them to speak using standard English - speaking in a grammtically incorrect way will lead to problems when answering questions about grammar. 
• Practice basic spelling rules.
